Do you ever feel like you’re the only one with questions about eye exams and scheduling? Rest assured, you are not. Our front desk staff compiled their top 6 questions asked each day with answers they want everyone to know. Enjoy!
1) When was my last appointment?
We can look that up and schedule an eye exam if needed. It is important to have a complete eye exam every year or two, depending on the recommendation of your doctor. Most insurances will cover a comprehensive vision exam once a year and more than one exam per year if there are new visual concerns. Check with your insurance provider to see the exact coverage you have. However, if you are having new issues contact us and we will schedule an appointment.
2) Will I get a reminder of my next appointment?
Yes! Relf EyeCare sends a reminder card two months prior to when exam is due. As your appointment draws closer we will call 2 days prior to the scheduled exams.
It is always a good idea to schedule an eye appointment in advance, even if it’s a year away. We will call a couple days before the appointment to confirm the time and if the time or day doesn’t work, you can always reschedule. Also, scheduling sooner allows for more flexibility, and if you always like the 1:00 spot, you’ve got it!
3) Do you accept new patients?
Yes. Relf EyeCare and Relf Optical recently expanded into a new facility in order to accommodate new patients. A new optometrist and a growing support staff now allow us to better meet the growing needs of our community. Please request your eye care records to be released and sent from your prior provider to Relf Eyecare before your appointment. We will send you a release form, and once it is sent back to us can take care of getting the records for you.
4) As a new patient, can I get an appointment with Dr. Relf?
Yes. Drs. Relf and Graham have more limited exam spots available. They are always available to our patients when they need surgery or run into any other eye emergency. Doctors Relf and Graham work closely with our optometrists, Doctors Bechthold and Strom to take care of patients effectively and efficiently.
5) How do I know if I need an Optometrist or an Ophthalmologist?
Visit Relf EyeCare for a comprehensive eye exam with any one of our eye doctors. The results of your initial exam will then dictate a recommended course of action. We will be sure that you see the doctor best suited to your needs.
6) How soon can I get an appointment?
Usually next day or even the same day. If requesting a specific doctor, the wait may be longer. Contact Us to schedule an eye exam for the day and time that works best for you.
