Do I have to stop my aspirin or Coumadin prior to surgery?

In most cases, there is no need to stop blood thinners such as aspirin or Coumadin. If your surgery does require that you stop these medications, your surgeon will advise you ahead of time and discuss the situation with your primary care physician as appropriate.
